WorkCover – WorkCover fees are in accordance with WorkCover schedules. Insurance consultations are charged at WorkCover rates. Consultations relating to employment are charged at the WorkCover rate. Please ask our friendly reception staff for details.

‘Walk-In’ Patients
We understand that urgent medical matters arise. Walk in patients are triaged and seen based on the urgency of medical need.
Home Visits
Home visits are available for our regular patients. Please allow adequate time for bookings as Doctors may not be available.
If you need a home care visit out of hours, the Australian Home Doctor Service, can be contacted on 13 74 25.
Cancellations
If you can’t attend your appointment, please call reception on (03) 9372 0011. We can re-schedule your appointment and ensure other patients can access medical advice and treatment. Failure to do so may incur a $50.00 – $100.00, non-Medicare rebatable fee.
Your Medical Information
Your medical record is a confidential document. We maintain security of your personal health information. We ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
You have the right to access your health information and may request to view your medical records. A fee may apply and access to information in Victoria is covered under the Victorian Health Records Act 2001. If this is requested it will be scheduled at a time suitable to yourself and a doctor.
Recalls and Reminders – Improving Our Service Levels
All patients at Your Care Medical Centre are routinely enrolled in our recall/reminder system. We use this system to enhance our services for preventative health care including immunisations, prostate checks, pap smears and abnormal test results, etc.
If you do not want to participate in the recall/reminder system please notify your doctor.
Please note – Test results are not given over the telephone. Please make a follow up appointment.
Telephone Calls
If you wish to discuss a medical matter over the phone with your doctor, please let our friendly reception team know by calling (03) 9372 0011. Our doctors prioritise these messages and will return your call as soon as possible.
In many cases this will be at the end of the day or session in order to avoid delaying patients currently attending our practice for consultation. It is rarely possible to meet a request for a call to be returned at a precise time. If you have an urgent reason, please tell reception and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions may be supplied at the discretion of your treating doctor. Please be advised that not all prescriptions can be written without regular consultations.
If you request a repeat prescription a request will be given to your doctor and you will be advised of the outcome. A repeat prescription may incur a non-Medicare rebatable fee.
Specialist Referrals
A referral is needed for you to get a Medicare refund for the fees charged by a specialist. The process of specialist referral involves an assessment of your condition and a decision that the services of a specialist are required to deal with your particular problem.
It is a requirement under Medicare that referrals are issued in advance of your consultation with a specialist, except in emergencies. For these reasons, our policy is that referrals are not available without consultation, and will not be back-dated.
Repeat referrals for continuing care may be written at the doctor’s discretion.
Complaints
We highly value your support and comments. Should you wish to make a complaint or are dissatisfied, with any aspect of your medical care or service provided by this medical centre, please discuss it with your doctor or the reception staff.
Patients are asked to submit their complaint in writing to the Practice Manager. Patients will be advised in writing of the progress of this complaint and kept up to date with all actions relating to the complaint.
